After my first shoot i new what type of shots i wanted, how to film the piece of music and the interview angels.

When my subjects arrived i did as i did before, i let them play on the piano and cello for 20-25 minutes and had a chat which made them feel comfortable around the cameras and almost forget about it so when i went to film it felt natural. I started with two cameras, both filming the whole song from a static angle, one on the pianist and one on the cellist. After this i got them to play the song again as me and my other cameraman who was helping me moved the camera around to capture different shots so i had a variety.

As i was using someone to help me on this shoot i met with them beforehand, made sure they knew how to use the equipment and then briefed them on what was happening and what shots i wanted them to get.

We then went into the interview, as the documentary is about the cellist not the pianist we only interviewed him, i had natural light on his face from the window, two angels and also i used the rode directional microphone to pick up the sound of the interview.

To record the sound of the performance i used a zoom h4 recording sound box which allowed me to achieve high quality sound. I clapped loudly before each performance and interview so i knew where to sink the audio from to the cameras.
